The note provides a checklist of what to include in the CMC bundle and how to draft a case summary or case memorandum. A Case Management Conference is a critical stage in the proceedings and for most cases virtually the only milestone event before trial. Parties are expected to have complied with the timetable laid down by the Court by the time of the Case Management Conference. Unless sufficient grounds have been shown to it, the Court will not grant extensions of time for compliance. 2020-05-08 A case management conference (CMC) is when both sides, the lawyers (if any), and the judge meet to talk about how to handle the case. Case management procedures and the case management conference ("CMC") are used by the court to expedite the movement of most civil cases through to an early resolution or trial. Counsel are expected to be thoroughly familiar with California Rules of Court (CRC) Rules 3.722 et seq., Local Rules 12 and 13 and the court's policies set out in Appendix 3 to the rules.
